Sorry this took so long to blog (super busy day) and sorry it was so short and so quiet, we were on the plane and the lady next to me was not digging the filming! Quinn's a cranky butt too, but when is he not? ;) I wanted to film in the airport while waiting to board but this little family was late and the lines were so long! By the time we sat down to wait for boarding they were making last calls for people who bought reserved seats, so we just had to stand right back up and board. Speaking of this airline, this was the first time I've ever gone anywhere and not flown out of Sky Harbor! We took Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport and it was so tiny! It used to be a military base, apparently, but now it's a little baby airport with a whopping four flights headed out that morning, including my own. Instead of walking down one of those make-shift halls where the end has an accordion-style wall kind of just flop over the entrance door of the plane, we had to walk on the black top and climb stairs to the entrance to get on. I felt like the Backstreet Boys (<-- this is clickable, if you have no idea what I'm talking about. I don't know why it won't light up red.). Well, okay, our stairs were a little bigger but it was still cool!
I slept practically the whole way there, only waking up during mild turbulence and for the dinging noise right before the captain made an announcement, which was obnoxiously loud. We landed and claimed our luggage and Quinn's aunt Kelly came and picked us up! We're now staying in Cedar Rapids, which is so freaking gorgeous! I would consider moving here (since we all know Arizona is just hell on earth with the rocks and the heat) since it's so lush and green but I'm afraid I'd never find a job with my party alignment! :( too blue as of now. But it's still pretty!
Today's been super packed with stuff, as I mentioned before. We arrived at the house around 1 and ate, then the aunts, Quinn's mother and I went shopping for the food we ate tonight while Quinn napped like a bum, we drove around to other houses to look at or visit for a few minutes and finally got back to the home base at 4:30, we snacked then went over to Aunt Kelly's for food and drink and chatting and karaoke! ;D unfortunately within an hour of getting there I got heart burn or acid reflux or whatever I have, I don't know what it is because my parents won't take me to the doctor! (hint, hint, if you're reading this) I've been asking to go for forever. Anyway, luckily I had some Pepcid and felt better after fifteen minutes of writhing in pain. I'm so dramatic, but really, nothing felt comfortable so I just rolled around for forever until it stopped. :)
We finally came home around 11 Iowa time (9 in Arizona) and right now it's a tad after midnight. I'm so excited! :D
Love, Desi!
